Twilight fell upon the mountain range.
Saga gasped for air to soothe his lungs; he heaved, taking in as much oxygen as he could with each breath. He’d never climbed mountains this steep in his entire life. In fact, being as young as he was, he never knew mountains got this high. The mountains he encountered had been more like plateaus, and the sides of them were not nearly as steep. But even still, he couldn’t stop climbing; even though his body implored him to give up he knew he had to move on. If his body implored, he would entreat. Surely a wolf with as much determination as himself could not let down.
----
With effort, determination, and his pride as a wolf; Saga had made it to the top. This mountain seemed to be one of the taller ones in the range. From the top he saw most of the land; A valley to the east of him, more mountain to the west which seemed to end a certain point, and finally he saw what seemed like flat land surrounded by mountains to the northwest. He had no desire to scale down the mountain he had just climbed from the valley, hence he would move forward to the northwest to explore the land.
He didn’t want to leave his mountain top next to the Valley as of yet, he needed to rest and collect his energy before moving forward. So he turned his muzzle skyward with the pride that seemed to burn so passionately within his soul; then he let out the most soul shattering howl that his lungs could muster.
“Wolf brothers, harken, for I call to you from atop the mountains to the east nearest the Valley! Join me, for I wish to scale the mountains to my destination at dawn.”
After doing this he lied down upon his perch at the mountain top; letting his tired body rest and ready itself for a new day.
