Mecurio
Having a fur coat could be useful in these bitterly cold days. The wind was harsh and the air was dry. Though when it was weighed down and soaked through with water, it wasn't too much of an asset. Large droplets of rain pummeled the ground and the few trees didn't give much cover. A rusty red figure, damp with the falling rain, made his way steadily across these muddy plains. Although the atmosphere seemed pretty depressing at this point, Mecurio was ever the optimist. His paws hurt from the long journey here and his lower half was covered in mud but there was still the faint flicker of a smile on his mug. This was new land and new land meant that he could start a new life. This was exactly what he needed, somewhere to live in peace. His ears perked and his tail waved behind him. Twitching his sensitive nose, Mec stopped and lifted his head up to get a good look at the area. He hadn't yet spotted any wolves and he certainly couldn't sense them. He attempted to shake out the rain and the mud from his coat as a strong gust of icy wind pinched at the less furry parts of his body. He raised a brow, surprised that no wolves had come to this place. It certainly was beautiful.
Giving a confident nod, Mec hopped over a large crack in the ground that was steadily filling up with water. Nothing in site but this nice patch of land. It would be perfect for a home. In fact... it would be perfect for claiming. He knew he had it in him to be an Alpha. Everything his mother had taught him... he had it in him. Mecurio took several deep breaths before flinging his head back and letting out a loud low howl. "I, Mecurio, claim these lands as my own"He let himself get relaxed, a wide grin on his face. The young wolf had his life ahead of him in this new pack and it would be perfect. He'd just have to get some members and soon it would be the biggest and the best pack out there. It seemed to be his purpose in life, to lead a pack. He had those doubts in the back of his mind but they could wait.
The adrenaline of the claiming was wearing off a little now. He knew after he'd had a sleep he'd realize how big this was. That was a good point... he needed somewhere to sleep. He looked around, finding it hard to see too far because of the rain. He sighed to himself. Well, he'd have to find some sort of densite... it was his only chance of getting dry quickly. Sighing to himself he picked a direction and squelched off in search of a suitable place to sleep.
