Cuán - "It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and say the opposite."
Paws of a raven colour stalked themselves through the new land. Where were they going? They didn't know... Where had they been? The only evidence were the prints left behind soon to be swallowed by the wind and sand. It was unusually windy, or was it? There was no memory there to say it was, but it was windy and there was this cold too it, this wet as well, but it wasn't rain. What was the strange phenomenon? Never before had he experienced this. The rain he had, somewhere in his earliest memories since coming to this land. Before that there was nothing, just a sense of dread, a sense of abyss and that haunting feeling didn't seem to disappear the more time went one. The more he thought about it the more the feeling seemed to creep up in his thoughts, creep up where he couldn't hide.
Cobalt eyes closed momentarily as he let it go. He would make new memories. He was a new wolf. He was Cuán and this would be his home. He would live his days here alone, or with company depending on who came his way. The desert, the white, the dips and curves as far as his eyes could see was his. Great sweeping dunes, underground tunnels an escape from the heat of the day was his. His howl joined the birds that rested in this place, the wind whipping it from his raven muzzle. This would be a land of peace, where there was no darkness creeping up behind someone and one were reason and logic would rule. Only the stars could deem what was good and bad, right and wrong, worthy and unworthy, light and dark. The stars ruled this place.
The stars were what brought a light in the darkness and here there were so many, probably the most he had ever seen. Only the stars could hold the sky up when the day was gone and if the stars disappeared the day would never come and the darkness in the deepest part of his mind would rise to the surface, that emptiness. That emptiness would crush them all physically and mentally. This was the beginning of a new land. A smile crept across the maw of Cuán as he knew this. Tonight the star were shining bright for him, for Antila. A chuckle erupted from his throat. Antila was the perfect name. He would be Cuán alpha of Antila.

Satine
Under the gaze of the bright stars, a shadowy figure glided across the cold sands, her dark coat blending in with the dark forms of the rocks. Dark green eyes pierced the night as Satine made her way through this desert. Everywhere was completely silent except for her delicate paw pads thudding against the ground. A sigh escaped the fae's muzzle. She had no idea where she was going. She paused, looking around. Everywhere looked the same. She could barely see the mountains in the distance. And she was thirsty. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she decided to keep moving forward... she'd find somewhere to go.
A sudden howl pierced the cold air. Satine jumped before stopping in her tracks. Someone else was here too! Taking a deep breath in, she made a sharp turn, heading to wards the scent of another. Silvery ears were perked up curiously but warily. She didn't want to go getting into trouble. She was in a mellow mood at the moment, one of the emotions she liked best. Tina sped up a little, looking over her shoulder. When she looked back she tripped up. She went head first into the sand, spraying it up around her. She swore mentally, shakily getting to her paws. There in front of her was a male. She hadn't noticed him when she was walking... but now there he was.. probably watching her every move. How humiliating. She felt like burying her head in the sand and dying of embarrassment. But instead she steadied herself out and gave a forced chuckle. Looking down at her paws she spoke as loudly as she could manage.
"Hi... I'm Satine" She said, lowering her ears and curling her tail around her leg. "S-sorry about that" She smiled weakly, desperate to try and get her mind off of what just happened. "So... um... where am I?" She asked, looking around at the desert. It wasn't such a bad place. As long as it was more interesting as the last place. Well, the male seemed to make the place more likable. She sighed, giving another laugh, this time it was genuine. She was such a mess.

"Hi... I'm Satine" "S-sorry about that" "So... um... where am I?"
Good questions. The brute smiled at his company. For now he would pretend nothing had happened, although it had been humorous it only showed as a smile on his maw. “My name is Cuán and I have claimed these lands as my own. These lands are Antila, the land of the stars. You are welcome to join me if you wish.” He smiled honestly, his tail wagging behind him as he enjoyed talking to someone. It was the first thing that had talked back. The rocks hadn't spoken no matter how how frustrated and angry he got at the thing. He had quickly realised though that things needed to be alive to answer. The birds had fascinated him. No wolf could destroy their song, even if one couldn't understand it. This was nice though. She actually looked like him too. Same fur, except she didn't have blue bits everywhere. Her eyes were a different colour too. Maybe wolves looked different? He wouldn't know until he met others.
“So where have you come from? What is it like? How did you find this place?” Maybe that was too many questions. “What skills can you bring to this pack. Take your time to answer. I don't think I've ever actually met another wolf before, well not that I remember.” He smiled again standing up. “Want to come in from the snow and wind?” He wasn't a very good alpha so far was he? He shrugged inwardly. He would get better when he got used to wolf company. For now he could only talk and ask questions. He would settle down soon enough and be serious, but this for him was exciting. Meeting a wolf for the first time in his memory was amazing, yet at the same time he wasn't sure how he knew to claim the land, how did he even know what he was? There must have been memories before, somewhere...

Satine
So this was his pack... how exciting. She thought to herself... though there wasn't anyone else around. Well... that didn't really matter... others would probably come along later on. "I'd love to join you" She said curiously. Her paws, three dipped in silver, shuffled in the sand. Suddenly, an avalanche of questions made her feel as though she was being put on the spot... but Cuán just seemed glad to have company. She didn't really mind answering them all... just taking them one at a time.
“So where have you come from? What is it like? How did you find this place? What skills can you bring to this pack. Take your time to answer. I don't think I've ever actually met another wolf before, well not that I remember. Want to come in from the snow and wind?”
Tina smiled. Well, at least it was leading away from her stumble... in fact, she was starting to forget about it herself, which was good after all. "Well... I'm ok at hunting and fighting..." She paused... well... she was good at it when she was angry... her emotions always seemed to just blow up. Well... with the most important question answer, she moved onto the more personal questions... something she knew she wouldn't be that great at answering. "I was just an ordinary pup in a pack..." She began. She was fine talking about this; it wasn't too bad. "I spent most of my life there... then I wandered off but got a bit lost.. but then I just decided to travel. Here just happens to be a place I seem to have wound up. This place seems a lot better then my last home" Satine gave a small smile. She hadn't had company in a while either... it was nice to just talk.
It was getting quite cold though her thick coat did well for protection. But it would be good to get out of the sand and somewhere more comfortable. "I wouldn't mind getting away from this cold" She said, shifting her fur into a more comfortable and warm position. "This place is nice... you picked a good spot to start a pack" she glanced up at the stars which scattered the sky, inbetween them and the darkness beyond.

Cuán
"Well... I'm ok at hunting and fighting..."
Hunting and fighting then huh? Well hunting was a necessity in life and for fighting he didn't particularly enjoy the idea, but he didn't know anything about these lands. He hadn't come across another wolf, but if Satine was here it was possible there were other packs out there and if that was true then it could also be possible that they weren't friendly. "I shall place you as a soldier for now. I hope there is no threats that would cause such a position to be true to the name, but..." Cuán paused. The flash of red was all her saw, but didn't know what it meant exactly. Was it a past or a dream? He shook it off looking back to Satine and smiling gently. It was still rather cold out here and he'd be boring her if he continued to ramble on. Was the day rising or setting? How long had they been sitting here? A little longer to listen to what she had to say wasn't going to hurt.
"I spent most of my life there... then I wandered off but got a bit lost.. but then I just decided to travel. Here just happens to be a place I seem to have wound up. This place seems a lot better then my last home"
Cuán smiled again, his eyes brightening slightly as he did so. It must have been nice having a past, boring or exciting. She remembered he did not. He waited a moment glad she did not ask the same question in return. What would he answer to that? The truth? Red? Something made up? The truth... How could he be trusted as a leader if he lied? Until the question came up however he would not volunteer the information. Why should he? If no one asked it wouldn't matter would it? When someone asked there would be a reason for asking, be it curiosity or necessity; either way only the truth could and would come out. Finally the raven coloured brute stood, the moonlight shinning through the blue highlights scattered through his fur. He was ready to get out of here and make a home for himself here. Was Satine? Hopefully she would decide to stay. It was much better with company.
"I wouldn't mind getting away from this cold"..."This place is nice... you picked a good spot to start a pack"
He smiled glad for the compliment. Perhaps she would stay. She would be the first friend in this new beginning, this new life he would write for himself, that he would walk for himself. "You haven't seen the best of it until you have seen the oasis. The winged ones are beautiful in their song," he replied remembering it. The song of life through the day belonged to the birds, the song of night belonged to the wolves, to him, to his new friend. She would find out for herself soon enough the beauty they held. "Feel free to explore over the coming months at your pleasure. I can only hope the days will warm and the cold will disappear. If you need anything call and I will come. " It wasn't like he'd be leaving her right this second, for she did not even know this land well. He had been here for many full moons already and was still discovering new things. For now he would show her the dens.

Satine
Satine watched the male curiously with her ears perked. She was curious to find out what rank she would get. Or if she would get in at all. Hopefully she would get into the pack. It was nice here... nice and calm. It was a good place to relax and although it was cold it still felt pleasantly comfortable. She was getting used to the sand beneath her feet and she knew she would grow to like it here. She was already growing quite fond of the place.
"I shall place you as a soldier for now. I hope there is no threats that would cause such a position to be true to the name, but..."
Satine grinned happily and wagged her tail. "Thank you!" She replied. A soldier... it sounded quite exciting. Hopefully everything would be good and she wouldn't need to do much fighting but then again she did enjoy getting involved. She'd hate to just be a random wolf in the pack that didn't have anything to do. She hated letting others down. But she would do her best to get involved and be helpful because that was the type of wolf she was. Smiling gently, she gave a small sigh.
"You haven't seen the best of it until you have seen the oasis. The winged ones are beautiful in their song"
An oasis! It sounded quite fun. She always loved the sound of birds and she was glad there would be somewhere she could relax and enjoy the melodious song that they produced. It was great here... she knew she would love it. She was welcome to explore the place, as Cuán said. She would love to... but she didn't really want to leave... not right now anyway. It was nice to have a little company. Her white dipped paws shuffled through the sand.
"I am getting a little tired..." She said, stifling a yawn. She'd love to see where the dens were. Hopefully they'd keep her warm during the night. She couldn't wait for day to come so she could get a good look at the place.

Cuán - "It's so simple to be wise. Just think of something stupid to say and say the opposite."
"I am getting a little tired..."
Cuán smiled at her as he continued on. He would take her to the dens to sleep. He needed sleep as well it seemed. He shook out his raven fur as he walked, splashed of blue once again catching the moonlight. He would hunt in the morning after the winged song. Paws stirred the soft sandy earth beneath him as he trotted along, leaving only footprints behind; soon to be consumed by the wind, absorbed by the earth and quickly forgotten. However would it truly be forgotten? Would the sand remember, the earth beneath, the wind? Would he one day remember who he was, who he was once? His past could no longer change what he was now or who he was to become, but he would maybe better understand himself and others if he knew. For now he would sleep. He might even watch the giant star rise in the new light. The oranges, pinks and purples of the dessert made things beautiful. It was the sign of life, the sign that the world continued on.
As he entered the oasis he paused looking around once more. It was breathtaking to him, the slopes, miniature valleys, the colour, the life in the middle of somewhere so barren. The dessert was harsh, yet beautiful in it's own way too, but the oasis was pure peace. It too hard a darker side too however. This was the only source of life for this pack. If it disappeared there would be nothing. Life would disappear completely. "Welcome to Antila's heartland. This is your home and mine. Tomorrow I shall hunt. You are welcome to join me, but I leave at the rising life, rising light. feel free to explore as you wish. If you have any questions I'm open to answer them." He smiled before beginning to walk again. He waited outside his own den before turning to watch Satine. He was curious about her, what she would do and how she would act. He truly couldn't remember any other wolves.
