Asyra - Nothing - "History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again."
Thick smoke wound it's way through the trees, weaving in and out leaving little trace behind. It moved like a wildfire, but on closer inspection it was no real smoke, but a solitary wolf. Young, but fully grown, slender and tall; the elegant female moved towards her destination. Snow crunched under paws where the soft green grass had once been. Life was fragile, yet at the same time persistent. Every year the grass would grow once more and colours would shine at their brightest before the harsh cycle began again, yet this wasn't always the case either was it? Fire... It was a dangerously beautiful thing. For the sake of beauty it sacrificed the surrounding life, consuming it until nothing was left. It also was greedy spreading as far as it could on the wind. Fire was evil... Beautiful at a distance, but evil none the less.
What would this new land be like? She had passed through so many, each different to the next. The beauty always astounded her be it the red sands or the brilliant purple of wild flowers. One thing never changed though and that was the stars above her. No matter where she was this sky was shared by all and there was no hiding it away. Stars were pure, beautiful and did no harm. If she could be anything after this life she wished to be the brightest star out there, looked at by all that could see, could imagine. A smile crept up on her lips as she entered the pack lands. Recently claimed as she heard the howl a short distance away. She too let out her own howl. “Keeper of these lands I request an entry to these lands and a home to call my own.” Her words might have been lost in the wind and snow, but there she stood just on the border waiting for acceptance.

Mecurio
The new Alpha of Indus waded through the thick snow. He wasn't used to this weather and he just hoped the summers were better. He had done a good bit of exploring and he was pleased with the place he had found. It was large and pleasant... a perfect place to own a pack. It reminded him a lot of his old home... except a little more harsh. Mec cleared her throat, wondering how long it'd be until someone stumbled across Indus. But it seemed he didn't need to wait that long.
“Keeper of these lands I request an entry to these lands and a home to call my own.”
Excitement rushed through him. His first member! The young rusty coloured male bounded through the snow, working his way through the trees and the fissures. As he got closer he slowed down a little. He wanted to look professional and he couldn't do that if he was acting like a puppy. Instead he grinned to himself and paced onwards, ignoring the icy snow which nipped at his paws.
Bright green eyes fell on a smoky form at the borded. The gust of wind rushed through his fur as he made his way over. "Hello" He said loudly over the wind. He waited for it to die a little bit before speaking again. "I'm Mecurio, Alpha of the good and caring Indus Pack. Who might you be and what qualities do you have to give to this newly forming clan?" Other then being pretty, he thought stupidly to himself. He had done this whole accepting thing in his last pack. There wasn't nothing to it really. Just a load of speaking and getting to know the new commer.

What is it that makes things happen the way they do? What is fate and can a single wolf change it? Can any wolf change it? Did the past define who you were and who you were meant to be? What had defined her? Flames roared in her ears. The black smoke obscuring the view of her parents, her friends. She coughed trying to call out, but unable to find air. Her body dropped to the ground. The fire seemed to run right through the middle of what had been her home. She was alone here and her parents could be dead or on the other side. She felt the heat of the fire coughing more backing away as the fire crept closer. If she left now she would never be able to return. In the end she ran. Perhaps it was that moment that had defined her past, but did it define who she was now? Would it define who she was to become? Only time would tell.
"Hello"
Amber eyes glanced up from her paws, her head clearing from any thoughts that had been there before. She was who she was and she would choose who she wanted to be. Where had he come from? The bronze, rusty male with piercing green eyes was suddenly just there. The female blinked a few times suddenly mute when she needed words. What was she to say to him? Would he say anything more? She really hadn't thought this through and she shied away from the brute slightly. She really should had thought what she was going to say before she called him. Her maw opened, but no words came out and she smiled as Mec made it easier for her by speaking once again, this time a question.
"I'm Mecurio, Alpha of the good and caring Indus Pack. Who might you be and what qualities do you have to give to this newly forming clan?"
“Evening... I'm Asyra... umm... I'm caring and good?” she replied trying to laugh, the look on her face completely nervous. “To be honest I'm not a fighter, I'm not a hunter even if I can hunt for myself. I prefer talking and thinking things out... I didn't do such a good job before I called you, but normally I'm much better at it,” she replied again properly a blush hidden in her smoky fur. How long had it been since she had last spoken to any living creature, one that could answer back or one that couldn't? It must have been a long time. She shivered lightly as she shook off a light layer of snow. She was cold just standing out here in the open. “Where have you come from? If you don't mind me asking. I didn't think I would find wolves here so I'm guessing you travelled.”

Mecurio
Mec watched a little curiously as the female seemed lost for words. He raised his brow a little, relaxing a little. He didn't want to seem intimidating or anything. At first he thought things were going badly. But then the female seemed to find her words
“Evening... I'm Asyra... umm... I'm caring and good?”
He gave a small chuckle. So she could speak. That was good. He shivered a little as the snow fell down thick and cold. The sooner he got this over with, the sooner he could get back to that nice warm den which he had ready for when he got back. The thought of it made him feel a little bit more comfortable.
“To be honest I'm not a fighter, I'm not a hunter even if I can hunt for myself. I prefer talking and thinking things out... I didn't do such a good job before I called you, but normally I'm much better at it,”
There were plenty of ranks that didn't involve fighting... but he didn't want to put too much of his new pack onto someone he'd only just met. After a little bit of thinking he spoke again. "Well, Asrya, I welcome you into the Indus pack as a messenger for now." He gave a small nod, pleased with his decision. Once he'd established a bit more of a pack, he'd send her around the other packs, picking up details... maybe even to call any other Alphas in the area to meet. He needed to know what he was dealing with. But for now he needed more members. He smiled to himself. It was all going quite well.
“Where have you come from?"
She asked. Mec paused, thinking of his old home and what had happened to it now. It made him feel even colder but he snapped back with a small intake of breath. The air filled his lungs, making him shiver. He paused again before speaking a little more confidently then he felt. "I came from a land quite far away.. called Caelum. I was the heir for a pack but then things went a little wrong and somebody else challenged and took over. So I just came here" He glanced down at his paws before lifting his gaze to Asrya. "What about you?" He asked curiously, swaying his tail in content. It would be nice to get some background information from his members.

"Well, Asrya, I welcome you into the Indus pack as a messenger for now."
The grey wolf dipped her head, a small smile touching her lips and eyes. What did a messenger do anyway? It didn't sound like it would involve fighting, but things had a way of hiding themselves under a false name. Wolves could do the same, hide their wrong doings under an excuse. The gentle wolf licked her lips standing taller, but in a more submissive position to her new alpha. She would trust him and he would learn to trust her and get to know her. She hoped to be friends with another wolf for once, instead of always moving on. She wanted something or someone to keep her here and perhaps a new pack would. "I thank you alpha Mecurio. Perhaps you could explain what you expect of me as a messenger," she answered him smiling finally stepping over the border into her new homeland. A new life filled with peace and perhaps this time fate would not take away everything.
"I came from a land quite far away.. called Caelum. I was the heir for a pack but then things went a little wrong and somebody else challenged and took over. So I just came here"
Asyra listened to his story, taking in what she could about her new alpha. It seemed he didn't like conflict. She had heard the name Caelum whispered in her travels, but had never seen the place with her own eyes. She had never really thought to go there either, for she knew many packs surrounding the passes were at war, or so she heard. There was truly only one sin in this world. War was just a extension of that. No wolf should ever steal for stealing was the most hated crime she knew. Killing someone was to steal someone's life, to steal a son or daughter from a mother, from sisters and brothers, from children and friends. She couldn't think highly of a wolf that did so, it was in her nature; how she was brought up for the most part and a decision she had come to on her own. Stealing was forbidden. That was final and it was that she believed in. She smiled, hopefully here she wouldn't ever have to worry about such a thing.
"What about you?"
Asyra sighed slightly. It was a story she didn't like to tell so much, but it was a reply to be expected. If you take some information be prepared to give some back. "I was born in a land I no longer remember the name of. I was separated from my friends and family in a fire, I don't even know if they survived. Since then I have travelled. I thought about going back, but that fire destroyed my home and that land would never be the same again. Fate wished me to move on and so I ended up doing. Now I'm here," she recalled, speaking softly. Her gaze dropped to the ground and her ears folded back. She always told herself fate wished her to move on, but what would have happened if she had gone back? What if fate hadn't wanted her to go? Perhaps fate could be broken after all. Perhaps she now walked the path only she could choose to walk on, not one set in the earth to follow. This pack was a new beginning, a new fate she chose.

Mecurio
He smiled confidently at his new member. It all seemed to be going well... he just needed to establish a larger pack. More ranks and a solid community of wolves. He also needed to find out about the areas around Indus. He paused for a little while as Asyra asked a question that he was just about to answer. He gave a small sigh before going on about what plans he had for the new messenger. "Well... for now you can just make yourself at home in the lands... but after a little while I wish for you to go out and explore the other lands... find out about them... what they're like. If you meet any other wolves you should ask them about the place but if you sense danger then you can flee. When the Indus pack becomes larger I may wish for you to send a message to any other pack Alphas for a meeting of some sort."
Mecurio nodded, pausing for a bit. He knew that Asyra would be a good addition to his pack. She seemed clever and cunning but also very kind. He didn't want to live in a pack which was always under threat of war and consumed by hatred. He had had enough of that in his last pack. Now he was to establish he own pack, a peaceful one where they didn't feel threatened. Hopefully he'd be able to keep this peace going until he died... and if he had children he'd try and make sure they followed in his paw prints. Yes... Lexi would do the same... except she was a bit more hot tempered then he... she would've started a war, just for the members of her pack. But no, he'd look after them but he wouldn't put them at risk through a silly argument. There might not even be any other packs around for him to fight with.
"I was born in a land I no longer remember the name of. I was separated from my friends and family in a fire, I don't even know if they survived. Since then I have traveled. I thought about going back, but that fire destroyed my home and that land would never be the same again. Fate wished me to move on and so I ended up doing. Now I'm here,"
Mec shuffled a little awkwardly. "Sorry to hear that" He said softly, swishing his tail from side to side gently. "I'm glad fate did choose you to come here. You'll be an important member of the pack."He gave a small comforting smile. "Is there anything else you wish to know? If not then you are free to explore the pack lands and make yourself comfortable" The young rusty coloured male grinned. It was fun being in charge.

Asyra listened intently to her knew alpha. It would be important in the future, but for now she could relax and that was what she did somewhat. Ash she stepped up and closer to Mecurio the tenseness in her muscles ebbed away as she walked along. She was still nervous, but the overflowing sense of adventure and exploring somewhere new seemed to take over. The inner pup that wanted to know everything, see everything, touch everything was stirring and pretty soon she forgot all else, instead taking in her surroundings. How far did these lands extend? She always got excited when she entered new lands. She was like a pup sometimes and got excited, but there was always an air of seriousness about her. Even now as she looked behind every rock and tree, sniffed the ground she was committing it to memory. She was good at stuff like that, but she also got carried away sometimes and didn't pay attention.
"I'm glad fate did choose you to come here. You'll be an important member of the pack."
She smiled looking to him once more. What was she meant to say? She looked at him once more returning to his side. "Thank you for allowing me to join this land with you. I truly can't thank you enough. I have missed having a home, but perhaps I can finally make one here. I will know every rock and tree and curve of this land soon enough. Just tell me how far do these pack lands spread out? The last thing I want is to wander too far and get myself into trouble." What was more she wanted to hear what kind of land Indus included. Were there marshy swamps or waterfalls or dessert of forest... There were just so many things she had seen, but here seemed different again. She just wanted to know everything she could. She didn't know what more to say after that. She didn't want to be alone, but perhaps he did and if they had nothing to speak about what was the point.
